Ryan's Ball Experiment

Ryan and Dag set out to test the hypothesis that a hot ball will bounce higher than a cold one.

Preparation:

  1. Four tennis balls, numbered 1-4.

  2. Number 1 was put in the freezer for 90 minutes.

  3. Number 2 was put in fridge for 90 minutes.

  4. Number 3 was left at room temperature

  5. Number 4 was in Dryer for 10 minutes and in the convection oven for 5 minutes.

  6. A piece of paper was taped on the wall and Ryan marked the height in one inch increments.

  7. A digital camera was attached to a tripod for video taping of experiment.

  8. Ryan guessed that the hot ball would bounce 40-45 inches.
